Jenna Barton - Creature Concept (wild dog)

  1. Your drawing quality is super nice here! The anatomy is convincing and I enjoy the simplistic feel of this creature. The goat eyes are a nice touch. Maybe it'd be fun to experience with more goat motifs throughout the rest of the design. (Maybe add some small horns poking out, emphasize the mane on his neck, make his feet more hoof-like, etc.) I see you already experimenting with the tail which is great. I really dig this design!

  2. Great rendering! Its very clean and simple. The drawing is really nice too, it has a great anatomical structure, and frankly, I don't know if there is necessarily anything that I would change about the design.

The only thing I would do (if I had to throw my two cents in) would be to maybe play a with some more extreme value ranges, if only to exaggerate where the light direction is coming from. I.e., I would put more light on the dog's head and let it fade out as it goes down the neck and body.

  4. I love it! The creature is very believable and has a good mix of the alien and familiar. The rendering is super interesting and gives a dynamic but not hidden look at the creature. Well done! Love the goat eyes. I would perhaps define the insides of the ears more (is that hair) and darken the shadow beneath him a little bit where the forelegs touch the ground.

  5. This is great, especially the slit eyes, it makes it more alien like. The only thing I would suggest is to hide a little more of the tail, it looks like it's coming out of its leg
